Saturday, May 4 @ 9 a.m.
The May walk will be an out and back course and the route can be 2-6 miles in length, whatever feels good to you. We will depart promptly at 9 a.m. so please don’t be late.
To get to King Ranch Park take 120th Avenue east to Quebec Street. Turn right on East 122nd Avenue and go straight through the roundabout and continue straight until you run into the park. Turn left and then a quick right and you will see the pavilion on your right. All parking will be on the street.
We will explore the new sections of Adams County Trail that goes south of 120th Avenue; it is paved and has one long hill. This trail is paved and has a couple of good hills. Please remember to dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes.
If you are interested in participating in the program but can’t come on May 4, please make sure that we have your email address and we will keep you apprised of the dates, locations and distances for upcoming walks. Please send those inquiries to Discover@cityofthornton.net. The next walk will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2019.
This is a monthly fitness program designed to help you develop or maintain a consistent fitness program. City of Thornton Recreation Staff will lead the walk each month. These treks will be of varying distances and will explore the many different trails around the community. Come alone or bring your spouse, your neighbors, your children and/or your dog. This is an opportunity to pursue your fitness goals, meet some new people and enjoy the trails of Thornton. These walks are free and open to anyone who can physically complete the distance. These are "no frills" events, so bring what you will need (water bottle, pet pick-up bags, etc.) for the duration of each month's walk.
