Thornton 9Health Fair first to offer internet sign-up

Early sign-up means faster service!

THORNTON, CO…The City of Thornton will host a 9Health Fair on Saturday, May 10, from 7 a.m. to noon in the Margaret Carpenter Recreation Center Gym at 11151 Colorado Blvd. The 9Health Fair offers free health screenings and education on health-related issues, along with a few low-cost screenings to participants. Health fair participants must be 18 years old or older to participate.

This year the Thornton 9Health Fair will be the first to offer early registration on the internet. That means no more waiting in long lines! Participants can go to www.9healthfair.org, click on ‘Find a Fair,’ find the Thornton site and pre-register and pay for the advanced screenings like blood chemistry and PSA analysis.

The free health screenings offered at the Thornton 9Health Fair include:

·        Body in balance
·        Lung function
·        Hearing
·        Blood glucose screening
·        Mental Health
·        Foot 
·        Body Fat Skinfold 
·        Vision
·        Blood pressure
·        Bone density tests
·        Cardiac Risk Assessment kiosk

For a small fee, participants can also receive a blood chemistry analysis ($30), prostate specific antigen analysis test ($25) and blood count ($15). Adults interested in a blood analysis or prostate test need to fast 12 hours before having their blood drawn. Diabetics should not fast.
