Thornton Arts and Culture
The Arts and Culture Division deals with the programming and promotion of arts and humanities in the community and is responsible for a variety of City sponsored programs.
The division serves as the City liaison to the Thornton Arts, Sciences and Humanities Council (TASHCO), a non-profit citizen committee appointed by City Council to administer grant funding provided by the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD). TASHCO also serves the community in the selection of visual art and involvement in various cultural events.
It is the goal of the Arts and Culture Division to identify and cultivate support, interest and involvement not only in the visual and performing arts, but in historical preservation and volunteerism. It is our intent to continually enhance these important aspects of our community in order to build a grassroots movement that will enrich the lives of our citizens and help to make Thornton a place of even greater distinction.
