Our neighborhoods are the environment in which we live and raise our families. Blight and nuisances can devalue, detract, and degrade the quality of any neighborhood. The City has adopted codes that govern the use and maintenance of private property.

These webpages have general information and answers to common questions.  If you have a specific question or concern, feel free to contact the Code Compliance staff in the Neighborhood Services Division.  Email is the best way to reach us: code@cityofthornton.net.  Also, you can send in your question through the City's customer service program Thornton Connected.  We are available by phone Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 303-538-7517.

Neighborhood Preservation Info

Homeowner Associations (HOAs)

Residents in subdivisions with Homeowner Associations must also follow the covenants for that HOA. Residents can obtain HOA covenants from their HOA property management company.  You can find a list of property management agencies for various Thornton HOAs on the Neighborhood Partnerships page.

Manufactured Home Parks

Residents in manufactured home parks must follow certain City codes as well as neighborhood guidelines.  Refer to the lease agreement for specific information on the responsibilites of residents and the property management.  The following brochure contains information about City Code property maintenance requirements.
