After eight months of construction, the 128th Ave. bridge at I-25 reopened on July 9th. The project replaced the old bridge with one that can be widened in the future to hold two lanes of traffic in each direction and a sidewalk on each side.

City Facilities Closed for Holiday

City offices, the Community Center, the Teen Center, and the Thornton Senior Center will be closed on Friday, July 4. The Carpenter Recreation Center will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thornton trash customers will experience a one-day holiday delay in trash and recycle services on July 4.

City of Thornton offices will be closed on Monday, May 26 to observe the Memorial Day holiday. The Carpenter Recreation Center will be open on Memorial Day from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. City Pool and Park Village Pool will be open from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. The Thornton Community Center and Senior Center will be closed for the holiday.

Cone Zone Alert for I-25 March 16 and 17

CDOT will be shutting down I-25 northbound at 120th Ave. and southbound at 136th Ave. from 10 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. on March 16 and 17, so that CDOT can use a crane to install new girders for the 128th Ave bridge. Alternate routes are advised.
