First Quarter 2007 Population Estimate
and Housing Inventory Summary

Back to Long Range Planning Home

  • As of March 31, 2007, the total population of the City reached 117,697.
  • Ward IV continues to have the largest population of all four wards. However, this imbalance should be corrected when the Second Quarter 2007 Population and Housing Estimates are released as they will follow the recently adopted ward boundaries.
  • The rate of growth from 2002 to 2006 has slowed significantly. While the rate of growth in Thornton had been leveling off in prior years, 2006 showed a marked 0.9 percent decrease in Thornton's annual growth.
